4a. Reflecting on Teaching


There are numerous avenues used in teacher reflection, the first being daily markings on participation/objective matching, and the second being score marking and adaptation.  For score marking, I analyze the octavo before I teach it, and as the piece is being taught I'll circle sections that didn't work, as well as mark dynamics/phrasing that needs to be adjusted for the next class.  Through these markings, I'm able to modify/remind myself of what is working well vs. what needs to be changed.  The picture below is musical score after I've finished teaching.
