Professional Music Educator | Piano, Voice

Welcome to my private studio page.  When you're choosing a teacher you have many choices and factors to consider.  Some consider education, while other look at experience and out of pocket cost.  At the risk of being overbearing, all teachers are not created equal and it's crucial you find an educator who not only knows the instrument in question but can also execute it and teach it.  As an educator, I believe I have a healthy balance of education, experience, and cost.

Education: I graduated with a Master of Music from Westminster Choir College in Conducting/Voice, and received a dual Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Delaware in Education and Piano Performance. I am a current member of NAFME (National Association for Music Education) as well as ACDA (American Choral Directors Association).

Experience: I have more than 20 years of teaching experience both in the classroom and private studio. All lessons are individually tailored to the student and their learning style/needs. Lessons include learning to read musical notation, music theory, aural training/development, musicianship, and improvisation. Depending on the students goals literature can range from classical i.e. Mozart, Bach, Beethoven all the way to Pop, Jazz, Broadway, Disney, etc... A majority of my current students are preparing/training for upcoming auditions & performances with local theatre companies, or esteemed universities.

Cost: Lessons are $100 an hour, and $50 for a half an hour. Payment is due at the beginning of every lesson. Lessons are based out of Ocean County, Monmouth County.  I am currently accepting students for Spring of 2024.
